Menu / Table Import
What it is for
Section titled “What it is for”On setup day, instead of entering the menu and table layout one by one, you load them in bulk with a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file. The menu file creates categories and menu items (with product cards); the table file creates halls and tables. Loading the same file twice is safe: records with the same name are skipped and no duplicate is created. At the end of the load, the screen lists which row was created, skipped or failed and why.

Who uses it
Section titled “Who uses it”The restaurant manager or consultant doing the setup. Edit on the Restaurant / Order page of the role screen is needed; a user without it sees “You do not have permission”. Permission is checked on the server side too.
Screens
Section titled “Screens”- Menu (category + product) card: prepare the file to the template header shown on the card. The header row is required and column order is free. The price column is the price including VAT; if your list is excluding VAT use the excl.-VAT price column instead, and the price is converted to including VAT by the selected band (both columns cannot be filled). The VAT column takes the band percentage, and a stock column set to “yes” opens the item as stock-tracked, otherwise not stock-tracked (for items like tea and coffee).
- Table (hall + table) card: template header is hall, table and capacity; capacity may be left empty (0 = undefined).
- File and Upload: choose a
.csvor.xlsxfile (up to 20 MB) and press Upload. - Result card: counts of Created, Skipped and Failed; rows that were not created are listed with row, record, status and explanation.
Typical workflow
Section titled “Typical workflow”- Prepare the file to the template header.
- Choose the file on the relevant card and press Upload.
- Check the Result card; fix failed rows in the file and upload again; those created earlier are skipped as “already exists”.
