Bank Guarantees
What it is for
Section titled “What it is for”Bank Guarantees (Teminat Mektupları) is the ledger of letters of guarantee, whether obtained from a bank in favor of a counterparty or given to the other party. Saving a letter creates an off-balance memo accounting entry; memo accounts do not enter the balance sheet total and only track the obligation and the security. When a letter is returned, called in or expires, the memo entry is closed with a reversing entry. The page lists letters that are close to expiry as a warning at the top.

Who uses it
Section titled “Who uses it”Finance and accounting staff. View on the General Ledger page opens the screen. The screen checks only this permission: the Save and status buttons are not separately tied to Add or Edit, so anyone who can open the page can register a letter and change its status.
